Qatar Charity (QC) is continuing its humanitarian and development efforts in crisis-affected communities, with advance planning and accelerated project preparations helping the organisation respond more quickly to urgent needs.
In 2026, Qatar Charity completed preparations to implement 4,213 projects across nine countries in Asia and Africa. The projects cover key areas including water and sanitation, education, culture, social housing and economic empowerment.
The preparations included securing project sites, completing required permits and coordinating with suppliers. This allows projects to move into implementation quickly once the necessary funding is secured.
Focus on Faster Humanitarian Response
Qatar Charity said its advance preparedness approach is designed to reduce the time between securing funding and starting projects. By having plans, sites and procedures ready in advance, humanitarian assistance and essential services can reach beneficiaries more efficiently.
The approach is particularly important as humanitarian crises become increasingly complex and prolonged, requiring organisations to respond rapidly while also supporting longer-term recovery.
More Than 5 Million Benefited in Gaza
In the Gaza Strip, more than five million people benefited from Qatar Charity's interventions between 2023 and 2025.
The organisation's support covered several critical areas, including food, healthcare, water, education and shelter.
During 2026, Qatar Charity continued providing food assistance amid ongoing humanitarian needs. Its efforts included the distribution of 198,000 ready-to-eat meals to patients, healthcare workers and displaced people.
Qatar Charity Supports More Than One Million in Sudan
In Sudan, Qatar Charity's humanitarian interventions have reached more than one million people inside the country and in neighbouring states.
The assistance was delivered through 74 projects and interventions covering relief, healthcare, food and other basic needs as the conflict continues into its fourth year.
More Than QAR 163 Million in Syria Interventions
Qatar Charity's interventions in Syria exceeded QAR 163 million in 2025, benefiting more than two million people.
The projects addressed a wide range of needs, including healthcare, education, food, shelter, water, livelihoods and economic empowerment.
During 2026, the organisation also began implementing more than 830 specialised surgical procedures in Syria. These include operations for children with congenital heart defects, open-heart surgeries, cochlear implantations and cataract removal procedures.
Support Across Crisis-Affected Communities
Qatar Charity's humanitarian work also extends to countries and areas facing prolonged crises, including Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Syria and Palestine.
Its programmes provide assistance in food, water, shelter and healthcare while also supporting livelihoods and economic empowerment to help affected communities become more resilient.
World Humanitarian Day Highlights Need for Protection
The initiatives coincide with World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19, under the 2026 theme, βMaking Our Greatest Achievement the Protection of Each Other.β
The occasion highlights the vital role of humanitarian workers in supporting people affected by conflicts, disasters and other emergencies.
It also underlines the importance of strengthening humanitarian response mechanisms, protecting aid workers and ensuring assistance reaches people in need.
Advance Preparedness Strengthens Humanitarian Action
Qatar Charity's preparedness strategy reflects the growing importance of having humanitarian plans and projects ready before crises intensify.
Rather than beginning preparations only after an emergency occurs, advance planning enables organisations to establish sites, secure approvals, coordinate suppliers and prepare projects so they can begin once resources become available.
This approach can help reduce response times while improving the efficiency and reach of humanitarian assistance.
Supporting Recovery and Resilience
World Humanitarian Day also serves as an opportunity to emphasise that humanitarian action extends beyond immediate emergency relief.
Alongside addressing urgent needs, sustained humanitarian programmes can support recovery, strengthen livelihoods and help communities rebuild basic living conditions.
Through its ongoing interventions, Qatar Charity continues to combine emergency assistance with development and empowerment initiatives aimed at helping crisis-affected communities withstand challenges and work towards a more stable future.
