'Pencak Silat Indonesia', conducted by Indonesian Embassy in Doha, Qatar Museum and Qatar Foundation

Indonesian Embassy in Doha, in collaboration with Qatar Museums and Qatar Foundation, hold an event “Pencak Silat Indonesia” to promote the philosophical tradition of Pencak Silat in the state of Qatar. The Event was held in celebration of Qatar National Sports Day and Qatar-Indonesia Year of Culture. Five renowned athletes and performers of Pencak Silat will demonstrate their skill at Multaqa Plaza, Education City on February, 14th.

“Pencak Silat” is a traditional sport deeply rooted in cultural heritage, values, and philosophies. The embedded local values taught Pencak Silat practitioners to maintain their relationship with God, human beings, and nature. Thus, it is a complex form of traditional martial art which also emphasizes mental, spiritual, self-defense, and artistic aspects.

The event was held by the Indonesian Embassy to celebrate Qatar Sports Day and Qatar-Indonesia Years of Culture 2023
