A Palestinian youth was martyred and 11 others were wounded, some of whom were in serious condition, after the Israeli occupation forces opened fire on them during violent confrontations that erupted on Sunday night in west of Jenin Governorate in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Mohammad Akram Abu Salah, 17, from the village of al-Yamoun, has succumbed to his injuries that he sustained in the head by an Israeli gunfire, during the confrontations that took place in the town of Al-Silah Al-Harithiya.

Earlier, the Red Crescent had announced that its crew dealt with three serious injuries, one of which was in the head of Palestinian youth, which was described as critical, before the Ministry of Health announced his martyrdom. In addition, the Red Crescent pointed out that another citizen has been injured in the back and head and he is in serious condition, and a third citizen has been injured in the foot and he is in serious condition.

The director of the ambulance in Jenin Mahmoud Al-Saadi confirmed that the occupation forces prevented ambulances from entering Al-Silah Al-Harithiya to transport and treat the injured.

Local sources said that in addition to those injured by Israeli fire, the continuous confrontations with the occupation forces caused dozens of suffocation from poisonous and tear gas.

On Sunday evening, large forces of the occupation army stormed Al-Silah Al-Harithiya town, west of Jenin, and closed all entrances and roads leading to it.
Security sources said that an Israeli military force backed by bulldozers stormed the town from all sides, and closed all the roads leading to it and linking between it and the village of Al-Yamun, while a number of soldiers climbed the roofs of the houses and stormed the house of the captive Mahmoud Ghaleb Jaradat.
