Summer Ban

In an effort to protect workers from the hazards of summer heat stress, the Ministry of Labour has announced a ban on outdoor work during daytime hours. Effective from June 1, 2024, to September 15, 2024, working in open spaces will be prohibited between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM.

This enforcement aligns with Ministerial Resolution No. 17 of 2021, which mandates necessary precautions to safeguard workers from extreme heat conditions. The ban specifically applies to outdoor workspaces and shaded areas lacking proper ventilation.

Under this regulation, outdoor work must cease at 10:00 AM and can only resume at 3:30 PM, ensuring that workers are not exposed to the most intense heat of the day. This measure is intended to mitigate the risk of heat-related illnesses and ensure a safer working environment during the peak summer months.
