The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched its âBack to School 2026-2027â campaign, bringing together interactive community activities, family-focused events and professional training programmes ahead of the new academic year.
âFirst Stepâ Initiative to Welcome New Students
This yearâs campaign introduces the âFirst Stepâ initiative, launched by the Ministry for the first time in partnership with Rafeeq Company.
The initiative is designed to make the beginning of school more engaging for children and families, with a particular focus on approximately 10,700 first-grade students joining Qatarâs government schools.
Educational Forum Set for August 25
As part of preparations for the new academic year, the Ministry will host its annual Educational Forum on August 25, 2026, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The event will bring together educational leaders, teachers and education partners to discuss priorities, exchange experiences and explore emerging trends in education.
More Than 15 Training Workshops
The forum will feature more than 15 training workshops covering key areas related to professional and educational development.
A dedicated dialogue session titled âPeople First... Authenticity is Strength and Digitalization is Empowermentâ will also examine the future of education.
Discussions will focus on keeping people at the heart of education, strengthening identity and values, and using digital transformation and modern technologies to empower teachers and students.
Place VendĂ´me to Host Family Activities
The Ministry is renewing its partnership with Mowasalat (Karwa) through a special pavilion at Place VendĂ´me from August 21 to 27.
The pavilion will operate from 4pm to 10pm and feature interactive, educational and entertainment activities for children and families. Stage performances and other activities will create an experience combining learning with entertainment.
Ministry Joins Al Meeraâs Back-to-School Campaign
The Ministry is also participating as a strategic partner in Al Meeraâs Back to School campaign, running across several branches from August 15 to September 15, 2026.
The partnership is intended to extend the campaign's reach and engage families and students throughout the back-to-school preparation period.
Msheireb Events to Engage Children and Families
The Ministry will also host activities at Msheireb from August 25 to 27, between 4pm and 9pm.
The programme will include educational, interactive and recreational activities aimed at children and families, while creating opportunities for direct engagement between the Ministry and the community.
Focus on a Strong Start to the Academic Year
Through the âBack to School 2026-2027â campaign, the Ministry aims to create a comprehensive and engaging start to the new academic year.
The campaign promotes shared responsibility for education, encourages stronger partnerships between schools and communities, and seeks to provide students with a positive and stimulating return to school.
