Media City Qatar Surpasses 500 Licensed Companies, Driving New Phase of Growth
Media City Qatar has announced that it has surpassed 500 licensed companies, marking a significant milestone in the nationâs media and creative industries and reinforcing Dohaâs position as a global hub for innovation.
According to the statement, the achievement represents a 60 percent increase since the start of 2026 and a fivefold increase since 2024, underscoring sustained momentum across sectors including Gaming & Interactive, Screen, Broadcast & Music, and Tech, Digital & Social.
Approximately 60 percent of licensed companies are startups, while nearly 70 percent originate from outside the Middle East, highlighting Media City Qatarâs international reach and appeal.
CEO Hamad Omar Al Mannai said: âSurpassing 500 licensed companies reflects the strong momentum behind Media City Qatar and the growing confidence in Doha as a hub for media and innovation. This growth has supported the creation of around 1,250 jobs and continues to strengthen the creative sectorâs contribution to Qatarâs GDP, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.â
Building on this success, Media City Qatar is expanding its InsideNext series with a new video miniâdocumentary format, spotlighting the journeys of licensed companies and their founders as they transition from early ambition to measurable growth.
The statement further emphasized that Media City Qatar offers a streamlined, businessâfriendly environment, allowing 100 percent foreign ownership, zero income tax, and no customs duties, enabling companies to focus on scaling operations and contributing to Qatarâs creative economy.
