Qatar fishing vessels
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) confirmed on Friday that water navigation is being gradually resumed in Qatar as of Monday, 30 March 2026 with vessels licensed for fishing activity only.
The ministry listed the following technical controls and requirements to operate:
Check the safety, preparedness as well as seaworthiness of the vessel before leaving.
Ability to carry and operate the Automatic Identification System (AIS) during the entire journey until returning to port.
The radio communication device The radio communication device will be carried and operated (16 VHF - Channel) for the duration of the voyage until returning to port.
Adhere to all provisions of Maritime Vessels Law, and the regulations and decisions issued in implementation thereof.
The Ministry called on members of the public to comply with this circular and avoid legal action.
