Lusail Bus Depot
The Lusail Bus Depot has set a record in the Guinness World Records Book as the largest electric bus depot with a capacity of 478 buses.
The official Guiness World Records Certificate was awarded to the Ministry of Transport and The Public Works Authority - Ashghal on October 16, 2022.Â
The Depot is the first in the Middle East to rely on solar power as it includes 11,000 PV solar panels to generate 4 megawatts a day to feed its buildings with needed power.
It also features a special zone for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) e-buses; the newest transportation mode in Qatar.
The Depot consists of 24 multipurpose buildings, including staff accommodation buildings at a capacity of 1400 people.
