Jordan Intercepts Five Iranian Missiles Targeting the Kingdom

Jordanian air defence systems intercepted and destroyed five missiles fired from Iran toward the Kingdom early Thursday, July 30, according to the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The missiles were intercepted before they could reach their intended targets, with the Jordanian military saying the operation successfully thwarted an attempt to strike Jordanian territory. No casualties were reported in connection with the incident.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said its air defence units carried out the interception efficiently and professionally, reaffirming their readiness to protect the Kingdom’s airspace and safeguard the country’s security and sovereignty.

The latest incident comes amid heightened regional tensions and a broader escalation involving Iran, the United States and several countries across the Middle East. Earlier on Thursday, the United States said it had launched strikes against dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran following Iranian missile attacks on US forces in Jordan.

Jordan has repeatedly faced security concerns linked to the wider regional conflict, particularly as missiles and drones have crossed or approached its airspace.

The interception of the five missiles underscores the continuing security pressures facing Jordan as regional hostilities intensify, while authorities remain focused on protecting the country’s territory and population.
