Mental Health Enters the Classroom
Qatar's schools have become a frontline for mental health awareness. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education organized a dedicated Mental Health Forum in 2025 to promote student well-being, featuring a panel discussion with representatives from the Student Protection and Care Department, the Quality of Life Unit at the Ministry of Public Health, Sidra Medicine, Behavioral Health Support Centers, and Naufar.
The forum underscored how seriously Qatar takes student psychological health. The event concluded with a workshop titled "Psychological Resilience as an Effective Tool for Promoting Mental Health in Various Workplaces," presented by the Ministry of Public Health, aimed at enhancing professional capacity in this space.
The forum affirmed the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030 in terms of human development, by focusing on the psychological well-being of students. At Qatar Foundation, school-based mental health programmes have trained Wellness Ambassadors to help foster holistic health among their peers — a peer-to-peer model that normalizes help-seeking from an early age.
