Google Unveils New AI-Powered "Googlebook" Laptops

Washington, September 22, 2026 : Google has officially launched "Googlebook," a new class of laptops that merges Android and ChromeOS technologies with its Gemini AI capabilities. The initial lineup comprises five models developed in partnership with Acer, ASUS, HP, Dell, and Lenovo.

The new devices are powered by either Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors, both featuring dedicated neural processing units (NPUs) capable of performing at least 45 trillion operations per second for AI-driven tasks.

All five laptops come standard with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, housed in chassis made from aluminum, magnesium alloy, or carbon fiber, depending on the model.

Across the range, shared features include touchscreens, backlit keyboards, and Google's new "Glowbar" light strip — a signature design element that indicates charging status and offers visual feedback when users interact with the built-in Gemini assistant.
