The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, through its Mosques Department, has inaugurated the Abdullah bin Khabbab Jame Mosque in Al Wakrah, marking another milestone in its nationwide program to expand and modernize places of worship.

The newly opened mosque, built on a land area of 3,631 square metres, can accommodate more than 2,400 worshippers, with dedicated prayer halls for both men and women. The complex also includes residential facilities for the imam and accommodation for the muezzin, ensuring full support for religious services.

Officials emphasized that the inauguration reflects Qatar’s commitment to strengthening its religious infrastructure and meeting the needs of growing communities. The project is part of the ministry’s broader initiative to enhance mosque facilities across the country, combining tradition with modern standards of design and functionality.

The Abdullah bin Khabbab Jame Mosque is expected to serve as a central hub for worshippers in Al Wakrah, reinforcing the ministry’s vision of fostering spiritual life and community cohesion.
