Riyadh, October 27, 2026 : The Saudi Cabinet has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for mediation efforts by Qatar and Pakistan to ease regional tensions, alongside initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability.
The position was announced during the Cabinet’s meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Cabinet highlighted the role of countries party to the Makkah Agreement in supporting regional security and stability. It also reviewed discussions involving member states of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and senior Iranian officials, reiterating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting security and stability at both regional and international levels.
The Cabinet also praised the capabilities of Saudi air defence systems, which it said had intercepted repeated attempts by the Houthi group to target Makkah, Madinah and other cities and facilities across the Kingdom.
It condemned the attacks, describing them as violations of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s right to protect the Two Holy Mosques, pilgrims, visitors, citizens and residents.
