If you run a company in Doha, your calendar may already include Bangkok. Partners, suppliers, investors, a conference. Plenty of executives combine a trip like that with a thorough medical review, because the schedule at home never leaves room for one.
I run a doctor-led longevity house in Ekkamai, Bangkok, and many of our guests are leaders who travel. Here is how I would think about a health baseline during a business trip, and how to fit it around the meetings.
Why a baseline, not a quick scan
A routine check-up often covers a short list of standard tests. It may not include markers such as cholesterol particles, fasting insulin, iron studies or inflammation markers. A baseline is different. It is a broad set of numbers, taken once, read by a physician, which becomes the reference point for every later change.
That is the idea behind our Advanced Health Check-Up. Our page describes it as a 90+ biomarker panel for adults 35 and older, covering metabolic, lipid, inflammation, iron, heavy-metal and tumor-marker baseline markers. The price is ฿30,000. It includes all laboratory work, the physician consultation and a written report, with no separate lab fees.
What 90+ biomarkers means in practice
The number is only useful if you know what is in it. The panel maps 10 body systems. Some examples from our page:
- Heart and metabolic risk: ApoB and Lp(a), fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, HbA1c, a full lipid profile and a 10-year cardiovascular risk score. ApoB and Lp(a) are cholesterol particle markers that standard panels often skip.
- Iron and nutrients: ferritin, serum iron, TIBC, transferrin saturation, vitamin D, B12, folate and magnesium. Low iron is a common and overlooked contributor to fatigue.
- Inflammation: hs-CRP, ESR and homocysteine.
- Organs: a liver panel including GGT, and kidney function including cystatin C.
- Toxic load: a profile of nine heavy metals.
- Tumor-marker baseline: a personal reference point. It is not a cancer screen. An elevated value leads to physician-guided follow-up, not a diagnosis.
Our check-ups measure up to 300 biomarkers, depending on the tier. Our page positions Advanced for adults 35 and older.
How the visit is organized
The page lays out four steps. You book a slot online or on WhatsApp. The blood draw is described as a calm visit of about 20 minutes. A physician reads your results with you, not an algorithm. You leave with a plan and a person who follows up, not a referral and a queue.
Fitting it into a business trip
A few practical habits make the visit easier on a tight schedule.
Book the blood draw for your first or second morning in Bangkok, before the meeting days fill up. Ask the team in advance whether you should fast, since some markers, fasting insulin among them, depend on it. Ask when your results will be ready and whether the physician review happens in person or remotely, so it lines up with your return flight. And bring any earlier results from home, even old ones. A physician reading a new number next to a previous one sees direction, not just position.
We would rather settle these details before you land than after.
The results session is what you are paying for
Numbers alone do not help anyone. A result becomes useful when a physician explains it against your history. A value can be out of range, borderline or reassuring, and the physician tells you what, if anything, to do about it. Sometimes the answer is to do nothing and retest.
That is why I tell guests to treat the baseline as the first page of a longer record. For executives past 45, our page describes the Advanced panel as an annual executive check-up: one visit a year. Over several years, the trend tells you more than any single number.
A personal reason
Intensive care at 37 was my turning point; Dr. Petch, my co-founder, told me it would not happen again. Since then I have believed health should be measured before it becomes an emergency, especially for people whose decisions carry a company and the people in it.
If a trip to Thailand is already planned, our page on the advanced health check-up in Bangkok lists every marker, the tier comparison and the published price. Read it before you decide, and bring your questions.
