Amir of Qatar, Lebanese President Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Stability

Doha: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Lebanon HE General Joseph Aoun discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and Lebanon and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. 

The discussions took place during a telephone call received by HH the Amir from the Lebanese President on Sunday, August 30.

Lebanon Praises Qatar’s Continued Support

During the conversation, President Aoun expressed appreciation for Qatar’s supportive position towards Lebanon and highlighted Doha’s efforts to contribute to the country’s security and stability.

The Lebanese President also thanked HH the Amir for Qatar’s continued support for Lebanon and its people. 

Qatar has maintained close diplomatic relations with Lebanon and has consistently emphasised the importance of stability, dialogue and peaceful solutions to challenges affecting the country and the wider region.

Amir Reaffirms Qatar’s Solidarity With Lebanon

For his part, HH Sheikh Tamim reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s support for the Republic of Lebanon and its solidarity with the Lebanese people.

HH the Amir expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would contribute to strengthening security and stability in Lebanon and across the region. 

The remarks underline Qatar’s continued focus on diplomacy and dialogue as key tools for addressing regional challenges and supporting stability.

Issues of Common Interest Discussed

In addition to bilateral relations, the two leaders exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.

While no further details were disclosed regarding the specific matters discussed, the call highlighted continuing high-level coordination between Doha and Beirut at a time when regional security and diplomatic developments remain important priorities for both countries. 

The conversation also reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between Qatar and Lebanon and the two sides’ interest in maintaining communication and strengthening ties.

Qatar-Lebanon Relations Remain Strong

Qatar has repeatedly expressed its commitment to supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and stability while encouraging diplomatic approaches capable of reducing regional tensions.

Sunday’s telephone conversation between HH the Amir and President Aoun further reflected the close relations between the two countries and their continued coordination on bilateral and regional matters.

Both leaders reiterated the importance of supporting stability and maintaining constructive engagement as Qatar and Lebanon work to further develop their bilateral relationship.
