Alreyada Girls Center Launches Summer Camp in Partnership with National Museum of Qatar

DOHA - The Alreyada Girls Center on Sunday launched a museum-themed summer camp in partnership with the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) as part of its summer activities program.

The camp brings together 20 girls aged 12 to 18 and aims to introduce them to museum professions and the preservation of Qatar's national heritage, while highlighting museums as dynamic learning environments.

“The launch of the camp reflects the center's vision of empowering young people and equipping them with the leadership and practical skills needed for the future,” said Najla Al Hajri, Head of the Alreyada Girls Center, who underscored the importance of the partnership.

Running through July 30, the camp features interactive workshops and activities on archaeology and heritage preservation, including hands-on sessions where participants can examine archaeological artefacts and learn about excavation techniques and collections management.

The program also offers practical training in visitor services and library operations, giving participants behind-the-scenes experience in visitor reception and ticketing.

It concludes with workshops on crafting traditional tools and raising community awareness, as well as an exclusive film presented by Faisal Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Archaeology Department at Qatar Museums, on the production of flint tools and historic arrowheads.
