Waterbody nearby Simaisma Beach for Women Turns Orange

In response to an online video by a local citizen where a waterbody nearby Simaisma Beach Turned Orange, The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Department, has responded.

The department's water quality monitoring team has collected samples from the site, which will be analyzed. A report is to be prepared regarding the watercolor transformation coordinated with the departments and authorities concerned.

According to the Ministry, the necessary measures will be taken at the soonest, once the watercolor source is confirmed.

It will be investigated further whether the color of the water affects public health.
