W Doha Hosts ‘Diva! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery’ Exhibition

W Doha Hotel & Residences is hosting at its vibrant art space, ART29, a dazzling Italian Jewellery exhibition entitled ‘Diva! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery’, a project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and brought to Qatar by the Embassy of Italy in Doha.  

Diva! will showcase the true Italian style through a rich collection of jewels that will take passionate on a voyage through the evolution of Italy’s fashion, brands and customs. The opening event was held at ART29 on October 10th, 2021. The exhibition will remain open to the public until October 24th, 2021, 10am-10pm daily. 

The Diva! exhibition features 200 pieces of Italian fashion jewellery, spanning years of evolution, dating from the 1950s to today. Curated by renowned Professor of Jewellery Design at Italy's Politecnico di Milano University and Director of the Vicenza Museum of Jewellery, Alba Cappellieri, along with Beatrice Rossato, Livia Tenuta and Susanna Testa, the artworks on display show the finest expression of Italian design and artistry. Not only jewellery lovers, but art lovers are promised an immersive experience through an evolution in style and fashion.

Professor Alba Cappellieri said: “Diva! Presents 200 fashion Italian jewels, dating back to the so called period “La Dolce Vita” during the ‘50s and continuing through the Prêt-à-Porter in the ‘80s and the Minimalism in the ‘90s until the New Millennium fashion. This extensive collection represents the esthetic mirror of society, showing the transformation of styles and costumes, ambitions and achievements of women, as well as the evolution of shapes, materials and new production techniques. It tells a typical “Italian story” that once again enhances creativity, craftsmanship, design, art, technology, beauty and innovation of our Country”.
