A rare ultra-white falcon has been sold for AED1.5 million at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2026, setting a new record for the current edition of the event’s falcon auctions.
The bird, described as an “Ultra White Pure Gyr Garmousha” falcon chick, was sold during the fifth round of auctions at ADIHEX. Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that it is the most expensive falcon sold in the exhibition’s 2026 auction programme so far.
Rare US-Bred Falcon Draws Record Bid
The falcon was bred by the Mark Moglich farm in the United States. It weighs 1,000 grams and measures 16.5 inches in both length and width. Its pure-white plumage and exceptional physical characteristics helped distinguish it among the birds presented to buyers and falconry enthusiasts.
The record sale reflects the premium placed on pedigree, appearance, physical condition and breeding quality in the specialist falcon market, which attracts breeders, collectors and enthusiasts from the UAE and overseas.
ADIHEX Strengthens Abu Dhabi’s Falconry Profile
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said the record result highlights the international standing of ADIHEX and reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a global capital for falconry.
He said the exhibition also supports efforts to preserve authentic Emirati heritage and pass the traditions associated with falconry to future generations. Falconry remains one of the most recognisable elements of traditional heritage in the UAE and wider Arabian Peninsula.
55 Falcon Breeding Farms Taking Part
ADIHEX 2026 features 55 leading local and international falcon breeding farms. The auction programme includes pre-show and show-day auctions, while online bidding allows participants to join remotely.
Organisers have described the 2026 programme as the largest falcon auction programme in ADIHEX history. The 23rd edition of the exhibition is being held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi under the theme “A Legacy of Pride” from August 28 to September 6, 2026.
More Falcon Auctions Ahead
Additional falcon auctions are scheduled during the exhibition, giving visitors and bidders further opportunities to view and acquire birds from participating breeding farms.
The AED1.5 million sale has already emerged as one of the standout moments of ADIHEX 2026, highlighting the continuing appeal of premium falcons among collectors and enthusiasts in the UAE and internationally.
