UAE Marks Milestone With First Rail Transport of Passenger Vehicles
The United Arab Emirates has marked a historic milestone in its transport sector with the successful completion of the first‑ever rail shipment of passenger vehicles, signaling a major step toward smarter logistics and sustainable infrastructure.
The operation was carried out in partnership with Etihad Rail Freight and Al Masaood Automobiles, which oversaw the efficient movement of Nissan cars from eastern ports to the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD). Officials described the achievement as a national landmark that demonstrates the strength of the UAE’s logistics framework and the growing role of private sector collaboration in advancing transport innovation.
The initiative highlights how integrated infrastructure and coordinated partnerships can transform industries, improve delivery reliability, and reduce dependence on traditional road transport.
Authorities emphasized that the project represents a broader shift toward sustainability and innovation, redefining how vehicles are delivered to customers across the UAE and reinforcing the country’s commitment to modernizing its logistics and supply chain systems.
