Living together in a relationship either makes the bond stronger or weaker. Sometimes it runs smooth and refined but sometimes it just becomes bumpy. If two people are happily married or willing to spend their life together they will always find a way to maintain a relationship, on the other side if they have any issues in their relationship then divorce is the answer.

Pointing out divorce, it can be done on the basis of a few points like abandonment, mental illness, criminal conviction, adultery, and cruelty. But these days some of the highlighted topics are drugs, religious sentiments, and impotence. A woman can file the same of the above highlights and most important not investing time towards wife in both physical and mental ways.

Talking about the male he can file a divorce against his wife for continuous refusal of intercourse, taunting spouse, communication gap and not devoting time to husband rest all remains the same. Both partners can easily get a divorce without any hindrance like alimony appeal, child custody or some other request.

If a wife wants alimony from her spouse for their children as well as for her then things should be considered before filing a case and demanding alimony

1) Relationship years:  Well alimony is called as the spouse support or maintenance for the wife for her future. This works like the years spent together after their marriage then you are eligible for the alimony. It doesn’t work for the short marriage, alimony money is not awarded to the short marriage and also when you and your spouse earn the same.

2) Settlement: If the judge orders the alimony then the spouse has to pay the stated amount every month only unless 1. A future date is given by the judge, 2. Your spouse remarries 3. A child does not need parenting 4. Spouse retirement 5. Expiring of a time period.

3) The burden of alimony: If you find that the amount you are paying to your spouse is making you a bad guy or you are not feeling good for it. Don’t think of it; just consider it as the cost of marriage because courts are not ever going to demolish it.

4) The expectation of alimony:  The alimony situation arises where the spouse has been earning more or has more savings than her wife. The alimony amount is for the standard of living, plus for child education and other purposes. But do not consider the alimony as the only source of income; make sure you also work for a better life and for a better future of your child. You should also be clear that your spouse should be capable of giving alimony, for example, he should be employed rather than unemployed.

5) Tax on alimony: Fining a high amount of alimony now comes in the tax deductible and comes under the taxable section of income.

These were the basic things that should be known before asking for the alimony money. For better reference consult an attorney near you.
