More over, ALS Ice bucket Challenge, there's a newer and better challenge to take up now. The Rice Bucket Challenge, by which you can Save Water and Feed the Hungry. Inspired by Global Charity Chain to spread awareness about the disease ALS, Manju Latha Kalanidhi from India came up with this ingenious challenge to help those who are in need. In this challenge, all you need to do is cook or buy a bucket of rice and feed someone who needs it. Isn't it simple and better? Just like ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, you should use the hashtag #RiceBucketChallenge and pass it forward to your circle.
On Twitter, its clear that not everybody is a fan of the ice bucket challenge. Memes have been created highligjting the large amounts of water being wasted, and a #NolceBucketChallenge hashtag is also being used by those who are not impressed with the "vanity" of all this.
You don't need to waste the precious resources like water so that everybody would know that you have donate money. Better donate something useful, donate a bucket of rice or something else that can feed many.
Followed by the #NolceBucketChallenge hashtag, some of the non-likers of the Ice Bucket Challenge even posted these instructions on Twitter.
1. Don't fetch a bucket filled with ice and dump it on your head.
2. Don't film yourself or post anything on social media.
3. Just donate the money, whether to the ALS Association or someone who really needs it, and feel happy. And if you think that it's the organizationyou really believe in. Feel free to politely encourage your friends, family, and relatives to do the same.
According to the New York Times, more than 1.2 million videos of people dumping water on their heads have been posted to Facebook. Over this, the Washington Post's jason Samenow did some math and figured this out.
"If an average bucket contains 4 gallon of water, about 5 million gallons of water have been dunked heads from coast to coast. That's the equivalent of about 120,000 baths or, in weather terms, over half an inch of rain falling on a 300-acre slab of land."
So, what's the point of wasting a precious resource like Water just to tell everybody that you have donated. Try to tke up the new challenge "The Rice Bucket Challenge", save water and feed the hungry.
