Awqaf set to distribute free Iftar meals to 70,000 fasting persons

The General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs launched the “Iftar the Fasting Person” campaign for the holy month of Ramadan 1445 AH, during the press conference it organized at the administration’s headquarters.

The General Administration of Endowments revealed its plan to provide 700,000 meals to break the fast throughout the holy month of Ramadan, for the benefit of more than 24,000 fasting people daily, in twenty locations for Iftar tables, including five locations for distributing meals.

Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Director General of the General Administration of Endowments, said that the iftar project for the fasting person is one of the important community initiatives of the General Administration of Endowments during the holy month, which aims to spread the spirit of solidarity among members of society, and that fasting has a great reward, as mentioned in the holy hadith that was narrated. On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “God Almighty said: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting, for it is for Me and I will reward it.” Explaining that this reward is obtained by the one who breaks the fast for a fasting person, but it does not detract from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.

He added during his speech at the press conference that the General Administration of Endowments aims, through the “Iftar the Fasting Person” campaign, to establish twenty locations in the State of Qatar, and aims to provide about 700,000 meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr. directed. Khaled thanks the benefactors who support the “Iftar the Fasting Person” project, which grows year after year, pointing out that the great demand from those who stand for the “Iftar the Fasting Person” endowment to obtain wages and rewards has contributed to doubling the number of tables and distribution sites, and the number of targeted beneficiaries during the current year compared to the previous year.

For his part, Mr. Muhammad bin Yaqoub Al-Ali, Assistant Director General of the General Administration of Endowments, said that the “Iftar for a Fasting Person” project is one of the endowment projects within the Endowment Bank for Righteousness and Piety, explaining that the sites for Iftar tables include tents equipped for eating meals, as well as sites for distributing meals to those who are fasting.

Al-Ali called for participation in the endowment for breaking the fast of the fasting person through the website of the General Administration of Endowments and to participate in the endowment to obtain the reward and reward from God Almighty.

Social solidarity

Through the campaign, the public administration aims to establish the year of social solidarity and interdependence, implement the conditions of those who stand by, help the needy and needy to perform the obligation of fasting, alleviate the suffering of many workers whose circumstances do not allow them to prepare the breakfast table in a timely manner, and exploit the gatherings as an advocacy, awareness-raising and educational opportunity.

The General Administration of Endowments was keen to geographically distribute breakfast locations according to population density and labor density areas, as dining locations include: Ain Khaled (Thursday and Friday Market), Al-Sailiya (New Central Market), Industrial Zone (Eid Musalla, 23rd Street “Al-Attiyah”), Industrial Zone. (Street 38 - Empiric Hospital), Al-Rayyan (Eid prayer hall), Al Montazah, Umm Salal Muhammad, Al-Wakrah, opposite the old Al-Wakrah market, Al-Khor (Othman Mosque), Ibn Imran (Eid prayer hall), Al-Aziziyah (Eid prayer hall), Al-Ali Market, Al-Sulaimi ( North Farms Area), Muraikh, next to Mosque No. (879), and Al Thumama.
