Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced temporary road closures in front of Rumailah Hospital and around designated parking areas as part of the ongoing Stormwater Drainage Network Improvement Project.
The closures are aimed at supporting essential infrastructure work and improving the stormwater drainage system in the area.
Road Closures Until September 15
According to HMC's announcement on 18 August 2026, the affected roads will remain closed until 15 September 2026.
The temporary restrictions are expected to support construction activities while ensuring the drainage improvement work can be completed safely and efficiently.
Alternative Routes Available
Motorists and visitors heading towards Rumailah Hospital are advised to plan their journeys in advance and follow the designated alternative routes.
Directional signs will be installed in the area to guide drivers and make access to the hospital and nearby facilities easier during the closure period.
Visitors Advised to Plan Ahead
Patients, visitors and motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and follow traffic instructions around the affected roads. The temporary measures will remain in place throughout the project period to facilitate smooth construction and maintain safe movement in the area.
The stormwater drainage improvements are part of infrastructure efforts designed to strengthen drainage systems and improve resilience against water accumulation during heavy rainfall.
