Doha, Qatar - September 02,2026 : Sidra Medicine, a member of Qatar Foundation, and Aman Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing healthcare collaboration for patients and families in Qatar.

Partnership to Support Evolving Healthcare Needs

The MoU marks the start of a broader partnership between the two institutions to identify opportunities that address the evolving healthcare needs of patients and families across the country. Under the agreement, both organizations will combine their expertise and capabilities to enable coordinated care pathways, strengthen professional development, and facilitate the exchange of clinical and operational knowledge.

Officials Highlight Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, Chief Medical Officer at Sidra Medicine, said the collaboration reflects the institution's commitment to working closely with healthcare providers across Qatar to strengthen coordinated, patient-centered care. He noted that bringing together the two organizations' expertise would help support stronger care pathways, create meaningful opportunities for professional development and knowledge exchange, and improve access to specialized services for patients and families, adding that Sidra Medicine looks forward to building on the partnership with Aman Hospital in support of Qatar's healthcare system.

Ms. Caroline Kielty, Chief Nursing Officer at Aman Hospital, said meaningful collaboration between healthcare institutions is essential to delivering seamless, high-quality care. She explained that combining expertise, strengthening referral pathways, and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development would further enhance continuity and quality of care, expressing confidence that the collaboration would strengthen patient outcomes, advance professional practice, and contribute to a more connected and accessible healthcare system.

Stronger Referral Pathways a Key Focus

A central focus of the MoU is the development of stronger referral pathways between the two institutions, supporting the timely transfer of patients and continuity of care, while helping connect patients and families with complementary specialized services available at both Sidra Medicine and Aman Hospital.

Clinical Education and Knowledge-Sharing Opportunities

The partnership will also create opportunities for healthcare professionals to take part in clinical education, continuing professional development, simulation-based training, observerships, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives. Additionally, the two institutions will collaborate on laboratory and pathology services, along with other specialized clinical and operational areas.

Builds on Earlier Cord Blood Banking Agreement

Aman Hospital was previously the first private hospital to sign a separate Cord Blood Banking agreement with Sidra Medicine, allowing expectant parents delivering at Aman Hospital to store their baby's umbilical cord blood with Sidra Medicine. Sample collection is handled by Sidra Medicine, with processing and storage carried out at its specialized GMP facility — home to Qatar's only Cord Blood Bank.
