QatarEnergy LNG
QatarEnergy has declared force majeure over some of the long-term LNG supply contracts impacted with Italy, Belgium, South Korea and China.
According to the report, QatarEnergy admits that they had suffered heavy damage from Iran's missile attacks on its Ras La]ffan product system on 18 and 19 March 2026. They said that two units for processing liquefied natural gas and one unit for converting gas to liquids were damaged. QatarEnergy will further evaluate the extent and timeline for repairing the affected facilities.
“Force Majeure” is a contractual provision allowing liability relief in situations where unexpected and uncontrollable events render performance impossible, functioning as the legal body armor.
