Qatar Pakistan trade
The session, held virtually, was co-chaired by Qatarās Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed and Pakistanās Federal Minister for Commerce Kam Jamal Khan. The meeting took place before a planned visit to Doha by Pakistanās prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, later this week.
The conversations occurred at a time when global supply chains and trade flows were feeling the pressure, Al Sayed emphasized during opening remarks, making the case for closer coordination so that long-held ties could translate into concrete investment opportunities.
Trade totalled $3.25bn in 2025, according to officials, demonstrating consistent expansion in economic ties with potential for even greater growth. Discussions centered on ways to scale cooperation in priority sectors such as infrastructure development, food security, manufacturing, logistics and supply chains and the digital economy.
The two sides also discussed possible steps to promote trade, boost exports and improve air and maritime linkages between the markets.
Participants underscored the role of the private sector and joint business council, emphasizing collaboration to strengthen commercial relations as well as initiatives to expand joint investments and develop more resilient, diversified supply chains.
The meeting discussed enhancing collaboration via the working group to expand trade volumes and attract investment between both countries, as well as considering measures to further reinforce long-term economic partnership that promotes sustainable growth.
