Qatar's Bassem Hemeida Wins 400m Hurdles in Bellinzona

Qatar national athletics team runner Bassem Hemeida claimed victory in the 400 metres hurdles at the Bellinzona athletics meeting in Switzerland, an event that drew several leading athletes from around the world.

Season-Best Performance Breaks 48-Second Barrier

Hemeida crossed the line in a season-best time of 47.56 seconds, dipping under the 48-second mark for the first time this season. The result improves on his previous best of 48.17 seconds, set just a week earlier at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting, also held in Switzerland.

Part of Asian Games Preparation Programme

Hemeida's participation in international meets across the Diamond, Gold, and Silver categories forms part of the Qatar Athletics Federation's broader plan to prepare national team athletes ahead of the Asian Games, set to take place in Nagoya, Japan, next month.

In addition to his individual hurdles campaign, Hemeida is also a member of Qatar's 4x400m relay team.
