Qatar Vaccination Campaign

Only 6 percent of Qatar’s eligible population — people aged 12 and above — are yet to be vaccinated as the country’s biggest national campaign to eradicate COVID-19 coasts through the final lap of its mission.

The campaign, which began on December 24, 2020, saw nearly 94 percent of the people aged above 12 — or 81.5 percent of the total population — getting at least one dose of a vaccine.

Almost 85 percent of people aged above 12 — or 73.5 percent of the total population — have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday.

Most of the vaccines approved for use in the country follow a two-dose regimen.

As many as 23,161 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total doses given out so far to 4,392,745.

Qatar recently approved the use of a third dose of COVID-19 vaccines for those with immunodeficiency diseases.
