Best place to lease Aircrafts

Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Financial Center (QFC) Yousuf Mohammed Al Jaida said that the Center's proximity to the most important leading airlines in the world and its wide network of destinations make it an ideal destination for aircraft leasing companies globally which will benefit from its attractive investment environment, business-friendly regulations and laws, and its distinguished tax system.

In a report titled "Qatar Financial Center - Leading Destination for Aircraft Leasing Companies" issued by QFC today, Al Jaida said it is expected that the great expansion of the Qatari economy during the next decade, driven by the flows of foreign investments in key sectors like the aviation sector, will provide great and multiple opportunities for aircraft leasing companies, pointing to the recovery in the aviation industry in parallel with the increase in the number of anti-coronavirus vaccinated people globally.

Al Jaida noted that flexibility and the ability to keep pace with rapid changes will determine the direction of this industry and the extent of its success in the future, especially with the emergence of new COVID-19 mutations, adding that nearly 30 of the largest aircraft lessors in the world are looking forward to concluding deals with leading airlines that utilize their assets efficiently; which demonstrates the importance of dealing with a reputable global airline that enjoys a strong financial position similar to Qatar Airways.

QFC also noted a relative increase in the activity of aircraft leasers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a rapid and successive development of this industry, especially since the number of leased aircraft globally exceeded those owned by aircraft operating companies in 2021 for the first time in the history of this industry.

QFC added that aircraft leasers come at the forefront of the purchase movement globally, contributing to nearly 60% of the total aircraft deliveries. This sector also witnessed a remarkable increase in wholesale and leaseback contracts in the past year. At least six major international air carriers concluded such contracts.
