Qatar extends navigation warning for hydrographic survey areas until May 15
The Ministry of Transport has announced the extension of its navigation warning covering hydrographic survey zones, confirming that the directive issued on March 18 will remain in effect until May 15, 2026.
The ministry urged all ships and maritime vessels to strictly adhere to the updated guidance, emphasizing that the measure is essential to safeguard operations, protect lives, and ensure the safety of property at sea.
According to the notice, vessels are required to slow down when approaching hydrographic survey areas, where specialized boats and submarine equipment are actively deployed. The extended warning applies to the same coordinates previously outlined:
Officials reaffirmed that the extension reflects Qatar’s commitment to maritime safety and operational transparency, ensuring survey activities can proceed without disruption while minimizing risks to passing vessels.
