Qatar has officially confirmed the Eid Al-Adha 2026 holiday schedule for employees across all sectors — private, public, and financial. Whether you work for a private company, a government ministry, or a bank, here is everything you need to know about the official leave dates, your entitlements, and when work resumes.
 

What Has Been Announced?

Three separate official bodies have released holiday notifications ahead of Eid Al-Adha 2026:

The Ministry of Labour announced a three-day Eid Al-Adha holiday with full pay for private sector employees.

The Amiri Diwan announced the official holiday schedule for government employees and public institutions, with the holiday running from Tuesday, May 26, 2026, through to Saturday, May 30, 2026. Employees in this category are expected to return to work on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) separately confirmed holidays for banks, financial institutions, and organisations under the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), running from Tuesday, May 26, 2026, through to Thursday, May 28, 2026 — with all financial institutions also resuming work on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
