H.E. Prime Minister and Minister od Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan


After the meeting, H.E. Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi said that "at the outset of the meeting, The cabinet renewed condemnation by the State of Qatar to attacks launched by Iran on both sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain and sisterly State of Kuwait noting these attacks are a blatant violation for sovereignty of those countries and a flagrant breach for rules or international law."


The Cabinet renewed the State of Qatar's full solidarity with both countries and its support for all procedures they take to maintain their sovereignty, preserve their security over this kind of criminal acts.


The Cabinet reiterated the importance of preventing the repercussions of these unprovoked attacks on the region, ensuring freedom of navigation in Strait of Hormuz waters, continuing to pursue dialogue and diplomacy, proceeding with de-escalation and building on gains within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding positively to achieve more consolidation for regional and international security and stability.


The Cabinet also emphasized its support for the dialogue and peaceful efforts between United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran aimed at finding sustainable solutions to outstanding issues.


In another context, the Cabinet expressed its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the fall of a Qatari citizen while he was traveling aboard a maritime vehicle hit by shrapnel due to military operations in the region. Cabinet members prayed for him to be bestowed with mercy and paradise while urging a speedy recovery of the person who sustained injuries in the incident.


The Cabinet then discussed topics on its agenda and used up a draft Amiri decision pertaining to legislations preparation.


The draft decision โ€” which was prepared by the Council of Ministers Secretariat General out and in coordination with the relevant entities โ€” aimed at replacing Amiri Decision No. (33) of 2000 regarding its provisions on Procedures for the Preparation of Legislation.


It is designed to govern the preparation, scrutiny and issuance of draft legislative instruments put forward by competent authorities, while promoting sound legislative practice and improving planning, monitoring and governance through all steps of the legislative process. It also aims to ensure that the legislation remains consistent with future developments, and aligns with strategies approved from time to time.


The Cabinet also approved a draft Amiri Decision regulating treaties and international agreements.


The draft decision, composed by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with all pertinent entities in 2023, determines how to implement the law on treaties and international agreements.


Defines signature and accession processes, allocates roles and responsibilities, enhances agreements implementation monitoring mechanism โ€“ all to ensure that the benefits from signing these agreements are maximized in line with their purpose.


The Cabinet approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic North Macedonia concerning political consultation on issues common interest; And it also approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatari diplomacy Institute for diplomatic training and North Macedonian national Institute.


The Cabinet reviewed, during the meeting, 2025 annual reports on the achievements and work programmes of Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation and a report on outcomes of participation in the7th Session of the General Assembly of IOFS Organization (Republic of Kazakhstan โ€”May 2026), and it took appropriate decisions thereon.
