MoIC Inaugurates Project Qatar And Hospitality Qatar Exhibitions 2022

Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani has inaugurated today the 18th edition of International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition Sectors (Project Qatar 2022), and Hospitality Qatar exhibition in its seventh edition, which will be held at Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC) from June. 6-9, 2022.

following the inauguration ceremony, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry toured the two exhibitions, during which he was briefed on the various pavilions, services and products offered by the participating companies and institutions.

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani stressed the importance of the role of Project Qatar 2022 in highlighting the growth witnessed by grand development projects being implemented within the framework of the State of Qatar's path towards achieving its National Vision 2030 and organizing the FIFA World Cup 2022.

He added that the exhibition offers an important platform that enables major international companies and institutions working in the field of the construction sector to converge, providing an opportunity to get familiarized with the state-of-the-art technologies, specialized equipment, best international practices, as well as the opportunity to forge fruitful partnerships and establish new business alliances with an added value for the local market that contribute to strengthening the investment environment in the State of Qatar.

He affirmed that the importance of Hospitality Qatar exhibition as it represents an opportunity to review the evolution being witnessed by the hospitality sector in Qatar, particularly in light of the anticipated positive indicators for the growth of the national economy in the coming period, adding that State's interest in the Qatar Hospitality Exhibition reflects its belief in the pivotal role played by the hospitality sector in supporting diversity and competitiveness of the national economy, expressing his aspiration that this event will achieve concrete results that consolidate Qatar's position as a leading tourist destination in the region and the world.

General Manager of IFP Qatar, the organizer, Haidar Mshaimesh said that the two exhibitions played an active role in contributing to the preparations of the construction, infrastructure and hospitality sectors in Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

"Today, with the due date approaching, which the whole world is waiting for, the two exhibitions converge to be the hub of the business community to meet and communicate, and the high-level gathering that we welcomed at the opening ceremony today is only a clear testimony to the value of the company's exhibitions and its position on the scene." He said.

The first day of the event witnessed the opening of the sessions of the accompanying three-day conference under the title (Major Projects in Qatar, 2022 and Beyond). During the opening session, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) featured some major strategic projects planned for the coming years, while the second session witnessed presentations by the most key sponsoring companies of the exhibition about their projects and programs, whether related to the upcoming World Cup or beyond, most notably Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, Economic Zones, Qatar Navigation, Shail Industrial Holding Group, and a broad range of other companies.

The approved professional training courses will kick off tomorrow Tuesday Jun. 7, 2022, including the continuous vocational development that were prepared for the professionals who are going to utilize the free education opportunities. Numerous workshops are scheduled to be held during the upcoming two days, including business administration in post-COVID-19 world, efficiency in asset management, smart cities and others.

Project Qatar 2022 intends to highlight the products and services being provided in the field of construction and building sector, including electrical equipment, construction systems and technology, engineering and design services, in addition to building materials such as marble, pipes, steel products, ceramics and granite.

Hospitality Qatar exhibition, which is being held in its seventh edition this year, is considered the most prominent and oldest exhibition directed at local, regional and international companies operating in the tourism and hospitality sector, which represents a unique opportunity to promote its brand and attract more sponsorship, advertising and marketing opportunities.
