Ministry of Endowments launches Arabic learning website 'Takalam' to teach Non-Arabic speakers

Takalam website contains more than 140 integrated lessons distributed over 7 levels

Arabic is the 4th most commonly spoken native language in the world in addition of being the official language of over 20 countries in the world.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs inaugurated on Nov. 17, the "Takalam" website for teaching Arabic for Non-Arabic speakers, via the Islamic website "Islamweb" affiliated to the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, with the support of the General Directorate of Endowments.

In remarks he gave during a press conference to announce the launch of the site, Director General of the General Directorate of Endowments Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Ghanem Al-Thani said the "Takalam" website will be a global platform to facilitate learning the Arabic language in different ways.

He added that the new website will join the platforms and websites of the Islamic Network, pointing out that the Islamic Network is a multi-service website and portals that benefit the public throughout the year, as it provides consultations and fatwas in several languages.

For his part, Director of the Department of Dawah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Mal Allah Al-Jaber said that the "Takalam" website for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, through the Islamweb website, comes as a continuation of the role of the Department of Dawah and Religious Guidance in spreading knowledge and goodness to the largest number of people. In the easiest and best way, to serve the language of the Quran.

Al-Jaber added that the site will include electronic content in which interested people and the users will find their target with high accuracy, an easy and accessible style, and a rich and extensive archive.

He pointed out that the site was designed under the supervision of experts to be a qualitative leap in teaching Arabic, enabling the user to master various skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing in an enjoyable visual way.

Meanwhile, Head of the Islamic Network Section (Islamweb) Omar Farouq Al-Rahmani explained that the Takalam website contains more than 140 integrated lessons distributed over 7 levels, and each level includes more than 50 interactive educational activities that combine interest and pleasure. He said the total activities are more than 400 ensuring that the user will find the appropriate level, smooth learning and proper gradation, starting from the basics to the advanced levels, which makes it the most suitable choice for non-Arabic speakers.
