Back to School 2026

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched its “Back to School 2026-2027” campaign, bringing together interactive community activities, family-focused events and professional training programmes ahead of the new academic year.

“First Step” Initiative to Welcome New Students

This year’s campaign introduces the “First Step” initiative, launched by the Ministry for the first time in partnership with Rafeeq Company.

The initiative is designed to make the beginning of school more engaging for children and families, with a particular focus on approximately 10,700 first-grade students joining Qatar’s government schools.

Educational Forum Set for August 25

As part of preparations for the new academic year, the Ministry will host its annual Educational Forum on August 25, 2026, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

The event will bring together educational leaders, teachers and education partners to discuss priorities, exchange experiences and explore emerging trends in education.

More Than 15 Training Workshops

The forum will feature more than 15 training workshops covering key areas related to professional and educational development.

A dedicated dialogue session titled “People First... Authenticity is Strength and Digitalization is Empowerment” will also examine the future of education.

Discussions will focus on keeping people at the heart of education, strengthening identity and values, and using digital transformation and modern technologies to empower teachers and students.

Place VendĂ´me to Host Family Activities

The Ministry is renewing its partnership with Mowasalat (Karwa) through a special pavilion at Place VendĂ´me from August 21 to 27.

The pavilion will operate from 4pm to 10pm and feature interactive, educational and entertainment activities for children and families. Stage performances and other activities will create an experience combining learning with entertainment.

Ministry Joins Al Meera’s Back-to-School Campaign

The Ministry is also participating as a strategic partner in Al Meera’s Back to School campaign, running across several branches from August 15 to September 15, 2026.

The partnership is intended to extend the campaign's reach and engage families and students throughout the back-to-school preparation period.

Msheireb Events to Engage Children and Families

The Ministry will also host activities at Msheireb from August 25 to 27, between 4pm and 9pm.

The programme will include educational, interactive and recreational activities aimed at children and families, while creating opportunities for direct engagement between the Ministry and the community.

Focus on a Strong Start to the Academic Year

Through the “Back to School 2026-2027” campaign, the Ministry aims to create a comprehensive and engaging start to the new academic year.

The campaign promotes shared responsibility for education, encourages stronger partnerships between schools and communities, and seeks to provide students with a positive and stimulating return to school.
