The Ministry of Commerce and Industry actively participated in the observance of World Autism Awareness Day, which occurs annually on April 2nd. They illuminated their headquarters in Lusail city with blue lights to underscore the significance of autism awareness, advocate for better understanding of the disorder, and emphasize the need for improved care and support for autistic individuals.

MOCI's involvement aligns with a broader awareness campaign, where numerous government entities worldwide are joining hands to illuminate buildings and landmarks in blue, symbolizing solidarity with the global effort to raise awareness about autism.

The designation of April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day stemmed from a proposal made by the State of Qatar to the United Nations General Assembly, which was officially accepted on December 18, 2007. This designation marks a pivotal moment in advancing understanding and acceptance of autism on an international scale.
