MCIT Launches Second Edition of Executive AI Leadership Program

Doha, September 14, 2026 : The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), through the Qatar Digital Academy, is organizing the second edition of the Executive Leadership Program in Artificial Intelligence, titled “AI Business Strategy & Innovation,” in collaboration with Microsoft.

The three-day program is being held from September 14 to 16, 2026, at INSEAD’s Europe Campus in Fontainebleau, France, bringing together 24 government leaders from ministries and government entities.

According to MCIT, the program forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen national capabilities and enhance the government sector’s ability to adopt artificial intelligence strategically and responsibly. The initiative aims to support improvements in institutional performance and public services while strengthening AI-enabled decision-making.

Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT Reem Al Mansoori emphasized that successful AI adoption depends not only on technology but also on leadership capable of understanding its potential, setting priorities, making informed decisions, and guiding teams toward responsible and effective implementation.

She highlighted the importance of strengthening the capabilities of government leaders to translate AI’s potential into practical solutions that respond to the needs and priorities of government institutions. Such efforts, she said, can contribute to greater efficiency, improved service delivery, and more effective decision-making.

The program is designed to help participants move beyond a general understanding of AI and develop the ability to assess strategic opportunities, identify priority areas for application, and establish a strong institutional case for implementation.

It also covers key considerations related to implementation, data, governance, risk management, and organizational change. Through real-world use cases and challenges drawn from participating institutions, the program provides access to international expertise and best practices while encouraging knowledge-sharing among leaders from different government entities and sectors.

This approach enables participants to adapt the tools and knowledge gained during the program to their institutions and translate them into practical AI initiatives and applications.

General Manager of Microsoft Qatar Ahmad El Dandachi said effective use of AI requires more than adopting new technologies, emphasizing the role of leaders in connecting technological capabilities with institutional priorities and turning them into measurable value.

He welcomed the continued collaboration between Microsoft and MCIT through the Qatar Digital Academy, saying the program provides government leaders with frameworks and tools to identify, assess, and implement AI opportunities in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Held for the second consecutive year, the program builds on the outcomes of its inaugural edition and continues Qatar’s efforts to develop government leadership capabilities while connecting international expertise and practices with the needs of national institutions.

The initiative also supports the objectives of Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030.
