Lekhwiya enrolls first volunteer batch in search and rescue training
The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has officially enrolled the first batch of volunteers in its specialized training program focused on search and rescue operations and disaster management.
The initiative is being implemented under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Qatar Voluntary Center, which operates under the Ministry of Culture, while the training itself is conducted by the Qatar Search and Rescue Team.
Officials emphasized that the program reflects the vital role of youth in serving the nation, aiming to prepare qualified national cadres capable of responding effectively to emergencies and crises. By equipping volunteers with advanced skills in disaster management, the program seeks to enhance national readiness and resilience in the face of potential disasters.
The training underscores Qatar’s broader commitment to strengthening its emergency response capabilities, fostering a culture of preparedness, and ensuring that communities are supported by well‑trained teams in times of need.
