Katara postpones Senyar Festival 2026 to next year
The Cultural Village Foundation Katara has confirmed that the 12th edition of the Senyar Festival, originally scheduled for 2026, will be postponed to next year. The decision was attributed to prevailing circumstances and Katara’s commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards for participants and visitors.
In its statement, Katara expressed gratitude to the public for their continued support and understanding, emphasizing that the postponement reflects its responsibility to safeguard community wellbeing. The organization pledged to deliver an exceptional edition of the festival in 2027, highlighting its dedication to preserving Qatar’s maritime heritage and cultural traditions.
The Senyar Festival, a cornerstone of Katara’s cultural calendar, celebrates the country’s seafaring legacy through competitions, exhibitions, and traditional dhow activities. The delay underscores the importance placed on safety and preparation, with organizers assuring that next year’s edition will meet the expectations of both participants and audiences.
