An art gallery was inaugurated Sunday in the General Cultural Foundation (Katara) in collaboration with Al Arqam Academy for Girls, and will run through May 11.

Director-General of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti hailed the 'journey of colors in the depth of childhood' exhibition that includes 80 paintings by a group of primary stage students at the Al Arqam Academy. He voiced hopes the gallery would achieve its distinguished artistic and educational objectives and develop the talents and experiences of the participating students.

Al Sulaiti also stressed Katara's support for the promising talents of all categories and age groups.

Basma bint Saleh, an art teacher at Al Arqam Academy for Girls, hailed the high-quality canvas paintings created by a group of female students from the first to the sixth grade, using watercolors and coloring pencils.

The displayed paintings ranged in their topics from covering Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to still life. Some paintings depicted the city of Occupied Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raising of the Palestinian flag over the Dome of the Rock Mosque.

The exhibition also included glass paintings that showed what the students had learned from practical color mixing activities.
