Katara’s 11th edition of Holy Quran Memorisation Competition has began. 

The competition will run weekly from Sunday to Thursday, after the Duhur prayer, for one hour. It will conclude on the 21st of April in a ceremony honouring all the competition participants and offering them cash prizes and certificates of appreciation.

The Holy Quran Memorisation Competition includes the teaching and memorisation of parts and surahs from the Quran, under the supervision of qualified memorisers from the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, who were carefully selected from those with competence and experience.

The Quranic session will be at Katara Mosque and the Golden Mosque every thursday afternoon, the two mosques that hosts a selection of distinguished preachers, will guide the participating children with a number of instructions relevant to the core values of the religion, such as an explanation of some of the honourable prophetic hadiths, as well as teaching children the duties and pillars of Islam, and ablution and prayer.

Every Year during Ramadan, Katara conducts the Holy Quran Memorization Competition in cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.In aims of bringing children and youngesters closer to the Quran through memorising, studying, and reciting its verses.

The competion has been very popular with children, parents have praised it for its unique role in instilling virtuous Islamic values ??and morals, derived from the Quran and the Prophet’s teachings.
