Hamad International Airport Expands Airline Operations Ahead of Summer Travel Season
Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced a significant expansion of airline operations, unveiling a series of new carriers joining its network in April, May, and the upcoming summer months of 2026.
According to official updates, the airport has already welcomed multiple airlines in April, including flydubai, Air Arabia, Oman Air, Royal Jordanian, Tarco Aviation, US‑Bangla Airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Syrian Air, Egypt Air, and Himalaya Airlines.
The expansion continues in May, with the addition of Air India, Air India Express, Gulf Air, IndiGo (May 1), Ethiopian Airlines (May 4), Saudia (May 5), Kuwait Airways (May 7), SriLankan Airlines (May 11), and Pegasus Airlines (May 12).
Further growth is scheduled for July 2026, when Royal Air Maroc (July 1) and Malaysian Airlines (July 2) will commence operations, alongside Kam Air (May 17) and Flynas (May 19) earlier in the season.
Airport officials emphasized that the expansion reflects HIA’s role as a global aviation hub, with 26 airline partners currently operating to and from Doha. The airport noted that flight operations are being coordinated with relevant authorities and airline partners, while advising passengers to contact carriers directly for bookings and schedules.
Officials added that schedules may be adjusted or cancelled due to circumstances beyond control, but stressed that the expansion is designed to meet rising demand during the peak summer travel period.
