Environment Ministry Holds First Forum on Safe Disposal of Hazardous Health Care Waste

Doha, September 14, 2026 : The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by its Department of Chemicals and Hazardous Waste, held the first forum on the safe disposal of hazardous health care waste on Monday, aimed at strengthening compliance with environmental requirements governing the health care sector.

Forum Reflects Commitment to Safe Waste Practices

Director of the Department of Chemicals and Hazardous Waste Dr. Mohammad Ayed Al Shammari said the forum reflects the Ministry's commitment to promoting safe practices and reducing the environmental impact of improper handling of medical waste. He added that the event provides an effective platform for exchanging expertise and reinforcing shared responsibility for sustainable waste management that protects both the environment and public health in Qatar.

High-Level Coordination Meeting Held with Health Ministry

On the sidelines of the forum, a high-level coordination meeting was held with the Ministry of Public Health to discuss efforts to unify joint initiatives and apply best international standards for handling hazardous waste.

Lecturers Honored for Contributions

The event concluded with the honoring of participating lecturers in recognition of their contributions to environmental and public awareness.
