The last basic salary received by the employee is considered the basis for calculating the end-of-service bonus.

The employee is entitled to the gratuity for any part of the year according to the rates referred to below.

FOR QATARI EMPLOYEES

As per article 117 of Law No. (15) of 2016 promulgating the Civil Human Resources Law, a Qatari employee who has spent at least one year in the service of a government entity is entitled to an end-of-service bonus, calculated as follows:

  2. A basic salary of one and a half months for each of the following five years of service.
  3. Two months of basic salary for every year in excess of that.

In order for the employee to be eligible for this reward, he is not entitled to a pension in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (24) of 2002 regarding retirement and pensions, unless his actual period of service exceeds twenty years and does not exceed thirty years, in which case he will be paid, in addition to the pension to which he is entitled, an end-of-service reward for the period exceeding that period - Twenty years with a basic salary of one month for each year of excess years. If this period exceeds thirty years, the reward shall be a basic salary of two months for each year of years exceeding thirty years.

These provisions went into effect on 3/6/2003.

FOR NON-QATARI EMPLOYEES
