Qatar's capital city is enduring yet another brutal stretch of summer heat, with forecasters warning residents to stay indoors and limit outdoor exposure as temperatures push to extreme levels this week.
Peak Heat Alert: 45°C Today
Doha is currently experiencing one of its hottest spells of the season. According to The Weather Channel, today's high is forecast at a searing 45°C (113°F), with overnight lows offering only modest relief at around 33°C. AccuWeather's RealFeel® index places the apparent temperature even higher, at 108°F (42°C), accounting for humidity and wind conditions.
Skies remain completely clear and sunny, with north to north-northwesterly winds blowing at 17–22 km/h providing little comfort against the intense desert heat.
UV Index at Extreme Levels
Health authorities should note that the UV Index is rated Extreme throughout the daylight hours, posing serious risks of sunburn and heat-related illness for anyone spending time outdoors. Sunrise is at 4:43 AM and sunset at 6:24 PM, making the midday hours particularly dangerous.
Humidity remains low — hovering between 19% and 28% — which is typical for Qatar's desert climate, though the air quality has been flagged as Unhealthy by AccuWeather, with sensitive groups advised to limit outdoor activity and healthy individuals warned of possible throat irritation during prolonged exposure.
10-Day Outlook: No Relief in Sight
The forecast offers little respite over the coming days. Temperatures are expected to remain well above 40°C through at least the next two weeks:
| Date | High | Low | Conditions |
| Wed, Jun 10 | 45°C | 33°C | Sunny |
| Thu, Jun 11 | 44°C | 33°C | Sunny |
| Fri, Jun 12 | 44°C | 32°C | Sunny, windy |
| Sat, Jun 13 | 42°C | 31°C | Sunny |
| Sun, Jun 14 | 42°C | 32°C | Sunny |
| Mon, Jun 15 | 43°C | 33°C | Sunny |
| Tue, Jun 16 | 42°C | 33°C | Sunny, windy |
| Wed, Jun 17 | 42°C | 32°C | Sunny, windy |
| Thu, Jun 18 | 41°C | 30°C | Sunny |
| Fri, Jun 19 | 41°C | 31°C | Sunny |
A slight trend toward marginally cooler highs in the low-40s is visible toward the latter part of the week, but nighttime temperatures will continue to remain oppressively warm, rarely dropping below 30°C.
Windy Conditions Expected Mid-Week
Meteorologists are flagging stronger northwesterly winds mid-week, with gusts reaching 25–40 km/h on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16–17, potentially raising dust and reducing visibility in some areas. Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution during these periods.
Precautions Advised
Qatar's Ministry of Public Health and municipal authorities typically issue heat advisories during such extreme conditions. Residents and outdoor workers are strongly urged to:
- Avoid outdoor activity between 10 AM and 4 PM
- Stay well hydrated and carry water at all times
- Wear light, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing
- Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles
- Seek air-conditioned environments during peak hours
Outdoor labourers and construction workers, in particular, are reminded of Qatar's summer work ban regulations, which prohibit outdoor work during midday hours between June 1 and September 15.
June marks the beginning of Qatar's most intense summer months, when temperatures routinely exceed 40°C and rarely dip below 30°C even at night. Doha, situated on the Persian Gulf, experiences a hyper-arid desert climate with virtually zero precipitation during these months — as reflected in a 0% chance of rainfall across the entire 10-day forecast period.
