Disciplinary update on FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has taken the following decisions:

Ecuadorian Football Association

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Ecuadorian Football Association with a fine of CHF 20,000 and a partial stadium closure (the stands behind the goals) at the next official FIFA match to be played at ā€œAā€ level by its menā€™s national team for breaches of article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (Discrimination) in light of chants by Ecuadorian supporters during the Qatar v. Ecuador FIFA World Cupā„¢ match.

Ecuadorian Football Association,Ā 

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Mexican Football Association with a fine of CHF 100,000 and one match in a FIFA competition to be played behind closed doors by its menā€™s national team (suspended for a probationary period) for breaches of article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (Discrimination) in light of chants by Mexican supporters during the Mexico v. Poland and Saudi Arabia v. Mexico FIFA World Cupā„¢ matches.

Football Association of Serbia

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Football Association of Serbia with a fine of CHF 50,000 and a partial stadium closure (25% of the seats closed) at the next official FIFA match to be played at ā€œAā€ level by its menā€™s national team for breaches of articles 13 (Discrimination) and 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code in light of chants by Serbian supporters and team misconduct (individual sanctions on seven players) during the Serbia v. Switzerland FIFA World Cupā„¢ match.

Argentinian Football Association

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Argentinian Football Association due to potential breaches of articles 11 (Offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play) and 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, as well as of article 44 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022ā„¢ Regulations in conjunction with the Media and Marketing Regulations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022ā„¢, during the Argentina v. France FIFA World Cupā„¢ final.

Croatian Football Association

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Croatian Football Association due to potential breaches of articles 13 (Discrimination) and 16 (Order and security at matches) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the Croatia v. Morocco FIFA World Cupā„¢ match.
