4th GCC Games Doha 2026
The Organising Committee of the 4th GCC Games - Doha 2026 approved the competition guide for the event scheduled to start on May 11, with wide participation of national teams from all six GCC countries.
Athletes competing at the fourth edition will compete in 17 sports, including handball, table tennis, athletics, padel, fencing boxing, taekwondo karate swimming billiards snooker 3x3 basketball shooting archery volleyball equestrian right bowling. The competitions will be held at 10 new and upgraded venues, which are Doha Aspire Dome; Womenâs Sports Hall; Hamad Aquatic Centre; Qatar Sports Club; Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Hall; Al Gharafa Sports Club Lusail Shooting Range (Lusail); Monster Hill plans in the town (Al Nasr soccer field) monster skating center;Shahrah International Piazza there),Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club,Qatar Bowling Federation hall, Duhail sports hall.
The swimming events will start from 12 May at the Hamad Aquatic Centre, where they will continue for four days, and also the beginning of 3x3 basketball competitions at Al Gharafa Sports Club which are scheduled over two days.
Taekwondo will take place in the Aspire Dome over two days, with table tennis events continuing until 17 May at the same venue. On the other hand, billiards competitions run until 15 May at Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Hall and bowling events at Qatar Bowling Centre will line up until 17 May.
Equestrian events will be held at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club between 13 May and 15 May. Fencing competitions will take place on three days at Aspire Dome while boxing will be held over two days. Shooting events will continue at Lusail Range until 20 May.
The track and field events will be held over four days starting on 14 May at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar Sports Club. Duhail Sports Hall will also witness the start of handball events that continue till the last day on May 22.
The menâs pool competitions will be held from May 15 to 19 while womenâs competitions and snooker competitions will take place on May 16-19 at the Womenâs Sports Hall. Aspire Dome continues to host padel tournaments until 20 May
The first event is for archery, which will be hosted at Lusail Shooting Range from 17-21 May while the karate event will be held on the 21st of May at Aspire Dome.
The first GCC Games were held in Manama, Bahrain from 11 to 22 October 2011 with approximately 1,500 athletes from six countries participating in eleven sports. Qatar ended third in the medals standings with a total of 20 (7 gold, 11 silver and 2 bronze).
The second edition was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia from 12 to 26 October 2015 where five countries participated and nearly 1,500 athletes competed in fifteen sports. Qatar matched third place again with 59 medals (21 gold, 22 silver, 16 bronze).
Kuwait hosted the third edition from 16â31 May 2022, with over 1,500 athletes competing in 16 sports. The mother of parliaments in Qatar fifth place with (52) medals (16- gold, 21-silver and 15-bronze).
