Bulk Carrier Struck by Unknown Projectile Northeast of Qatar
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a bulk carrier was hit by an unidentified projectile while sailing 23 nautical miles northeast of Qatar on Sunday morning.
According to UKMTO, the impact triggered a small fire onboard, which was swiftly extinguished. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported.
The incident underscores ongoing maritime security concerns in Gulf waters, where commercial shipping lanes remain vulnerable to unexplained strikes and disruptions. UKMTO said monitoring and precautionary measures are being reinforced to safeguard vessels transiting the area.
