The Republic of Estonia is a small country located in northern Europe. Despite its size, Estonia is a world leader in many fields, including technology, education, and e-government. One of Estonia's most innovative initiatives is the e-Residency program, which allows residents of any country to apply for Estonia e-Residency online.

Estonian e-Residency is more than just an online application process; it provides residents with access to a number of Estonian government services, including the ability to start and operate a business remotely. E-residents also have access to Estonian banking and payment systems, which makes conducting business in Estonia much easier for expats. In addition, e-residents are eligible for Estonian health insurance and can even vote in local elections. Note: This is not a Estonia residency program, you don’t have to physically be in Estonia.

Who Can Apply for Estonian E-Residency? 


Estonia e-Residency is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, regardless of nationality or country of residence. There are no income or investment requirements; all you need is a valid passport and proof of identity. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an Estonian ID card which can be used to access government services online.  The application process takes around 30 days from start to finish.

Eligible applicants must:     


?    Be at least 18 years old     
?    Hold a valid passport     
?    Have proof of identity     
?    Not be an Estonian citizen     
?    Not be a resident of Estonia   

How to Apply for Estonian E-Residency  

Applying for an Estonia e-Residency is a simple process that can be completed entirely online. You'll need to submit the following documents as part of your application:     

?    A digital photo (taken within the last six months)     
?    A scanned copy of your passport     
?    A completed self-assessment form 
?    In addition, you'll need to pay a one-time fee of €100 

Once your application has been approved, you'll receive an ID card which will allow you to access government services online.

In addition, e-resident businesses are exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT) on intercompany transactions—making it even easier to do business across borders within Europe.
